I've been selling rare books for over twenty-five years.  Occasionally you run into someone who tries to sell you a stolen book--in this case, a first edition BOOK OF MORMON [1830].  This happened last year.  The local Dallas paper did an interesting write up on the events surrounding the disappearance of the book:
